What does INGLIB mean?

INGLIB means English Liberalism. It was originally a parody logo I made in 2018 which was based off of the ruling party INGSOC from George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four, which means English Socialism.

Fast forward to 2021 and I decided to make it my official symbol while modifying it ever so slightly. The torch I'm sure we all recognise as the torch of Liberty, while a common symbol of Liberalism is a bird or an eagle in flight. So I included two wings to represent freedom+liberty. The black and white handshake, inspired by the INGSOC logo, represents unity regardless of your inherent characteristics - one might use the phrase "Black and White Unite" to describe it. As for the colour scheme, Yellow is the colour associated with Liberalism. And while Blue is usually associated with Conservatism, this is not the case for INGLIB. I chose blue because 1. It's my favourite colour and 2. It's to represent the sea and sky. Freedom. I chose dark blue over light / deep because it was too overwhelming.

The official INGLIB flag contains seven stars, all of which stand for a fundamental principle which INGLIB represents: Democracy, Individual Rights, Freedom of Speech, Blind Justice, Economic Freedom, Self Reliance and Secularism.

I fundamentally believe in all of these principles. If you do too and wish to show it off, then by all means check the store regularly as I will be updating it whenever I have something new to offer!
